What a great sunset sail on Tranquility with Javier. It was the perfect finish to a weekend with friends from out of town celebrating their wedding. Javier is an amazing captain, tour guide, and host. I recommend booking with him for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Great way to see NYC in the company of friends and not masses of tourists. When we were back, we only had to cross the west side hwy and we were in Tribeca to get something to eat. I highly recommend.

I live here and have been on several different kinds of boats, but Javier's sailing trip is by far the best experience. I didn't even know you could pay for a private boat in manhattan! We could help as much as we wanted, because Javier took care of everything. We had the boat to ourselves. We were a group of 6 people with plenty of room, so I believe 8 people would also work. Javier let us bring beer and a picnic on, which was especially nice considering he couldn't partake because of strict drinking rules for captains.
Overall I'd recommend this trip for groups who want to avoid the tourist masses while enjoying the harbor.

I have been fortunate enough to have been on many sails in the NYC harbor and Hudson river over the years. I just went on the Tranquility sail with Captain Javier this past weekend and was amazed! The boat was so comfortable, safe and clean. Sailing with Captain Javier was such a nicer experience than the larger group sails because of the intimate setting with just a few friends and one captain! Captain Javier was great and very skilled at maneuvering the boat to maximize usage of the wind. We all really had such a unique experience seeing the skyline and relaxing on the water. It was like being a millionaire on your private sailing boat but not having to be a millionaire to pay for it! Great job again Captain Javier! We will be back next season!

Quietly sailing around lower Manhattan, Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, up through Buttermilk Channel and under the Brooklyn Bridge is surreal in that you have absolutely nothing pulling at you, horns distracting you or people bumping into you...the waterfront is New York's jeweled necklace...it's watching the busiest place and most beautiful city on earth with the volume off....ok that's one observation. Another would be the gentle way Captain Javier answered our endless questions about the waterway, architecture, seamanship, New York history and environmental science....while navigating Tranquillity through currents, traffic and dodgey winds effortlessly (or so it appeared). There were 6 of us and we brought enough food for the captain, I think he appreciated our sharing as we all sat in and around his cockpit with our stories and glasses of wine celebrating a birthday! We felt part of the boat in short order whether because we got to trim a sheet on the jib or because we asked so many damned questions! The peace and quiet of the sail commanded the day and when we disembarked back at the pier we were set to charge bravely into the world we had taken a break from....Do this!

We (group of 4) went out with Javier 2 weeks ago for an amazing Sunday evening sail. The boat is super comfortable and Javier was the perfect captain- I felt safe at all times...and he orchestrated great photo ops with Mrs Liberty! Really fun to see the manhattan skyline from a totally different perspective. Thanks Javier!

I had a great time sailing on Tranquillity with Captain Javier. The boat was very comfortable, the captain was knowledgeable and easygoing, and the NY Harbor and skyline views were amazing! Experiencing downtown Manhattan from a sailboat was such a unique experience.
